After a brutal encounter with monsters, Cory was transferred to Bureau 13.
Cory was able to train up to be an FBI special agent, as well as a Bureau 13 officer. On duty she tends towards direct, cynical and violent, a she sees necessary.
Cory joined the SIS in 2002, after burning out from regular Bureau 13 duty.
Being part of the VCPD provides enough boredom interspersed with enough interesting things to keep her more or less balanced.

Cory and Julie together can be really scary.
As a late middle aged lady, Cory is not as strong or as fast as she used to be. She is still a good deal faster and stronger than she LOOKS. When she forgets to scowl, she could be someones Aunt or Grandma.
When she does scowl, she looks like she is looking through you, sees and disapproves of all your secrets. A look she perfected as an FBI Agent.
Cory has a long term partner who she keeps carefully insulated from her life as a cop.
Cory is paranoid, as befits a Bureau 13 agents from the 1980s and 1990s when they were being actively hunted by Team Alpha and others.
All of her official documentation points towards VCPD HQ as her home. She drives a restored 1964 Ford Fairlane, so she can exclude all electronics from it.
She has a work purse and a home purse. Very few items are transferred between them, at the end of shift. her home purse stays locked up tight while she's on duty.
Cory Joins Julie and other female officers for the Women's informal shooting club. Her partner has been known to join them as well.
